Following the armed clash between Thai and Cambodian soldiers on May 28, 2025, at Chong Bok, Nam Yuen District, Ubon Ratchathani Province—which reportedly resulted in the death of one Cambodian soldier—the Cambodian government has reaffirmed its decision to bring the border dispute over four areas (Ta Moan Thom Temple, Ta Kwai Temple, Ta Moan Tot Temple in Surin, and the Emerald Triangle or Mumbai area in Ubon Ratchathani) to the International Court of Justice (ICJ), commonly referred to in Thailand as the "World Court." However, Cambodia still intends to attend the upcoming Thailand-Cambodia Joint Border Commission (JBC) meeting on June 14.

In parallel, Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that it will address the Chong Bok skirmish specifically through bilateral mechanisms, utilizing the JBC alongside the General Border Committee (GBC) and Regional Border Committee (RBC).

As tensions persist, on June 5, the official Facebook page of the Royal Thai Army posted at 4:12 PM encouraging social media users to use the hashtag “ไทยนี้รักสงบแต่ถึงรบไม่ขลาด” (Thailand loves peace but is unafraid to fight) to show support for soldiers protecting the nation.

Later, around 6:00 PM, the activist group ‘Thalugaz’ posted in a similar manner, promoting hashtags such as #NoWarThaiCambodia, #สันติสู่ชายแดน, and #សន្តិភាពដល់ព្រំដែន (Peace to the Border), along with three demands:

1. Oppose military solutions to conflicts.

2. Urge both sides to de-escalate military tensions.

3. Call on citizens and media to avoid fueling violence that could escalate into war.

On June 6, at 3:40 PM, the Royal Thai Army clarified via social media that supporting troops defending national sovereignty should not be equated with promoting war.
