On June 2, Mr. Dusit Phongsaphiphat, Head of the Chiang Mai Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, issued a report to the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DPM), the Governor, Deputy Governors, the 33rd Military Circle Commander, Deputy Director of Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC), Provincial Chief Officers, Director of the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center Region 10, the Public Relations Office, heads of related agencies, and all media outlets regarding the recent earthquake situation.

According to the Earthquake Monitoring Division of the Meteorological Department, on June 2, 2025, at 14:07, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 occurred, centered in Mae Pang Subdistrict, Phrao District, Chiang Mai Province. The coordinates were 19.175°N latitude and 99.189°E longitude, at a depth of 1 kilometer.

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) has already issued public alerts via Cell Broadcast and SMS systems in the affected area.

The Chiang Mai Governor instructed all district officers, in coordination with local administrative organizations, village heads, and subdistrict chiefs, to inspect and assess the impact. In Phrao District, near the epicenter, tremors were felt.

Local health-promoting hospitals and area hospitals reported no injuries, fatalities, or property damage.

Furthermore, key sites in Chiang Mai Province—such as major hospitals (Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital and Nakornping Hospital), Chiang Mai Airport, public transportation systems, religious sites, large dams (Mae Ngad Dam, Mae Kuang Dam), and infrastructure—were not affected.
