At 11:09 AM on May 29, True Move H Universal Communication Co., Ltd., led by Mr. Sigve Brekke, CEO of True Corporation Public Company Limited, officially submitted its application to participate in Thailand’s upcoming telecom spectrum auction. The auction, organized by the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), includes the 850 MHz, 1500 MHz, 2100 MHz, and 2300 MHz frequency bands.

The submission was received at NBTC’s conference hall by Prof. Dr. Sarana Boonbaichayavichit, NBTC Chairman, and Mr. Sutthisak Tantayothin, Deputy Secretary-General for Telecommunications. The NBTC will now verify applicant qualifications as part of the standard pre-auction procedure.

Mr. Jakkrit Urairattanasakul, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at True, stated that the company’s board approved participation after comprehensive internal analysis and external consultancy reviews. The aim is to ensure maximum customer benefit, enhance digital communications, support industrial, economic, and social sectors, and accelerate Thailand’s digital economy development.

True Corporation reiterated its commitment to becoming Thailand’s leading telecom-tech firm by continuously upgrading network infrastructure for equitable nationwide service access. The spectrum auction is a strategic opportunity to strengthen the company’s role in the country’s long-term digital infrastructure.

Advanced Info Service Plc (AIS) also submitted its application at around 2:00 PM, signaling intense competition in this auction.

Initial spectrum license prices are as follows:

850 MHz: 2 blocks (2×5 MHz each), starting at 7.74 billion THB, valid for 15 years.

1500 MHz: 11 blocks (5 MHz each), starting at 1.06 billion THB, valid for 15 years.

2100 MHz: 15 blocks (2×5 MHz each), starting at 4.5 billion THB.

2300 MHz: 7 blocks (10 MHz each), starting at 2.6 billion THB.
