At 10:40 AM on May 29, during the second day of the special parliamentary session deliberating the 3.78-trillion-baht 2026 budget, Ms. Krisdee Cheewathammanon, Chonburi MP from the People’s Party, voiced strong support for the proposed budget, especially regarding infrastructure development and sustainable agriculture.

At 1:00 PM, she elaborated her stance, highlighting the Ministry of Transport’s allocated budget of 261.29 billion baht, which focuses on expanding and maintaining major highways, intercity motorways, and improving road safety and logistics—especially in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), which includes her constituency. An additional 50 billion baht is designated to connect secondary roads to communities, tourist sites, and border areas, driving local economic growth.

She also supported the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives’ 131.11 billion baht budget, which is structured into three key policy groups: promoting the monarchy through royal projects, urgent measures like farmer debt restructuring and modern farming, and mid-to-long-term strategies involving land management, water resources, carbon neutrality, and proactive agro-diplomacy. The ministry also aims to manage 14 key agricultural products under the Thailand Hub strategy, including rice, durian, shrimp, and rubber.

As a representative of Laem Chabang and Ao Udom, Krisdee proposed a specific project to restore and conserve coastal marine life, which has been declining due to urbanization, pollution, and coastal industry. She requested funding through the Department of Fisheries to breed and release species like shrimp, crabs, fish, and shellfish into local waters. The initiative also includes community engagement in ecological restoration and awareness campaigns to promote marine conservation and sustainable fishing.

She emphasized that this budget is not just numbers on paper but a bridge to the future—linking infrastructure to cities, farmers to markets, and coastal communities to the sea. She concluded by endorsing the 2026 budget bill to enable forward-looking government investment.

It was noted that Krisdee spoke from the zone designated for the Kla Tham Party and used time allocated to the ruling coalition.
