On May 27, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), in cooperation with mobile network providers AIS, True, and NT, issued Cell Broadcast and SMS alerts to residents in high-risk areas along the Phong River in Phu Kradueng and Srithan subdistricts, Loei province. The alert advised residents to move belongings to higher ground and evacuate vulnerable individuals as the river was expected to overflow.
Authorities urged the public to closely follow official updates. People can report emergencies or request assistance via the “DDPM Incident Report 1784” LINE account (@1784DDPM) or call the DDPM emergency hotline 1784, available 24/7.
The Cell Broadcast message read:
"DDPM Alert: Flash Flood/River Overflow Warning for Phong River on May 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM in Phu Kradueng and Srithan subdistricts, Loei province. Water levels are near overflowing. Please move belongings to higher ground and evacuate vulnerable groups immediately. Stay updated through official local announcements."
