On May 27, Maj. Gen. Jakkrawi Saniworayut, Commander of the 37th Military Circle, continued deploying Royal Volunteer troops in coordination with Mengrai Maharaj Camp Hospital and the 17th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Battalion. The team worked with Mae Sai District officials and the Mae Sai Municipality to assist flood-affected communities, particularly Ko Sai and Mai Lung Khon in Mae Sai Subdistrict, Chiang Rai, following severe flooding on May 23.

Though water levels have receded, mud remains across roads, homes, and public areas. The response teams are engaged in cleaning streets, removing debris, and clearing mud from residences. The full recovery is expected to take several more days.

Mobile medical units from Mengrai Maharaj Camp Hospital are also visiting the area, offering health checkups and distributing basic medicines like fever reducers, muscle rubs, and pain relievers to aid the affected residents.

Meanwhile, flood monitoring by the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) at the Jotada Station in Myanmar on May 26 showed the water level at 513.61 meters above mean sea level, with a continuing upward trend. Mae Sai officials have issued flood warnings, especially for areas near the Sai River, urging residents in at-risk zones to stay alert and prepare for possible overflow or flash floods due to ongoing monsoon rains.

DDPM Director-General Phasakorn Boonyalak instructed Chiang Rai Governor Charin Thongsuk to ensure all 18 districts maintain 24-hour flood watch, especially Mae Sai, which remains vulnerable due to sediment buildup in the Sai River. Myanmar has yet to fulfill a Thai-Myanmar agreement to dredge the river before the rainy season.
