On May 26, the Environment Department posted on Facebook regarding the “Run For Destination 2025” event, scheduled to take place on May 25, 2025, at Suan Luang Rama IX Park in Prawet District. The event organizer failed to hold the event as scheduled and did not notify participants in advance.
Upon investigation, the Environment Department, through Suan Luang Rama IX Park, found that the organizer had obtained event permission under the name “Run For Destination 2025” through the Suan Luang Rama IX Foundation.
However, due to the incident affecting a large number of registered participants, the Suan Luang Rama IX Foundation has filed a complaint with the Prawet Metropolitan Police Station against the organizer, Tonson 99 Sport Complex Limited Partnership.
Additionally, the Environment Department reviewed two more permission requests from the same organizer to use public parks:
- A request to use Lumphini Park for a walk-run event titled “Love to Run” on July 20, 2025.
- A request to use Chatuchak Park for a walk-run event titled “Colorful Running Day” on September 28, 2025.
As a result, the Environment Department has revoked all permissions for Tonson 99 Sport Complex Limited Partnership to hold events in Bangkok’s public parks and has prohibited the company from using any of these locations for future events.
