On May 25, 2025, Dr. Atthaporn Limpanyalert, Deputy Secretary-General and spokesperson of the National Health Security Office (NHSO), clarified misinformation regarding COVID-19 treatment. A widely shared message suggesting that patients could call the NHSO hotline 1330, contact a listed pharmacy, and receive medications at home under the approach “Call, Pay, Done” is incorrect.
He emphasized that this approach was a temporary measure during the major COVID-19 outbreak in 2022, based on the Ministry of Public Health’s “Test, Treat, Done” strategy. This service officially ended in late 2022. Dr. Atthaporn advised the public to follow NHSO's LINE Official Account (@nhso) for accurate health information.
Currently, COVID-19 treatment follows standard healthcare protocols according to each individual's coverage rights. Since the disease has become less severe, most cases are mild (green category). For patients under the 30-baht universal healthcare scheme, services are free at all primary care units. Severe cases should be treated at hospitals as per one’s entitlement.
Additionally, NHSO offers convenient options for patients with mild or no symptoms. They can consult pharmacists and receive symptom-based medication at participating pharmacies, identified by the “30-baht everywhere” or “My Quality Pharmacy” stickers. The list of participating pharmacies can be found at: https://wdrugapi.nhso.go.th/public/ (select pharmacies for minor illnesses).
