On May 23, Mr. Pornchai Chulert, board member and secretary of the Khaokwan Foundation, addressed the recent discovery of over 300 kilograms of cannabis flowers at the sacred relics storage facility of Wat Phai Rong Wua in Song Phi Nong District, Suphanburi Province. It was claimed that the cannabis had been left there by “Ajarn Decha” (Mr. Decha Siripat), chairman of the foundation.
Mr. Pornchai firmly denied these claims, stating that neither Ajarn Decha nor the foundation had ever stored cannabis at the location. He explained that Ajarn Decha’s cannabis formula is registered as traditional herbal medicine, and every step from cultivation to processing is conducted in designated, regulated facilities. “We never take our cannabis products outside of these controlled environments,” he stated.
He added that the foundation has no knowledge of who the cannabis found at the temple belongs to. Upon receiving a formal inquiry from the temple, the foundation responded in writing to confirm that the cannabis is not theirs.
