On May 22, Satsaram Thammabutsadee, a member of the Social Security Board representing insured persons, publicly disclosed survey results showing that 66% of employers and 62% of insured persons do not want the annual social security calendar.
Despite this, the Social Security Office and the Public Relations Subcommittee Chair insist on producing the calendar as usual, stating that no committee or board has the authority to cancel it.
Satsaram noted that the Progressive Social Security team is working to redirect the 50-million-baht calendar budget to more beneficial uses for insured persons. He questioned the Office’s insistence on maintaining the calendar despite clear opposition, hinting at a need for systemic reform.
