On May 22, political activist Netiwit Chotiphatphaisal posted an update regarding his legal case stemming from his refusal to participate in Thailand's military draft in 2024. He appeared at the Samut Prakan District Court at 10 a.m. after prosecutors formally charged him for draft evasion.

Netiwit had publicly declared civil disobedience by refusing to participate in the lottery draft process on April 5, 2024, at the Bang Pu Municipality Office, stating his conscientious objection to conscription. He emphasized that he did not flee but consciously chose non-cooperation.

The court granted bail without requiring a surety, citing no flight risk, and required only an oath instead. Netiwit expressed gratitude for the public's support.
