On May 22, reports emerged highlighting four abandoned state projects in Nakhon Phanom province, with a combined financial loss of nearly 200 million baht. Despite some being located near the Office of the Auditor General, no responsible parties have been held accountable, leaving the public frustrated.

The projects include:

  1. A solid waste disposal center in Na Kae district, built in 2011 with a budget of over 60 million baht, which has never been used.
  2. An OTOP (One Tambon One Product) activity center in Nong Yat, Muang district, built around 2012 with over 30 million baht, now a deteriorating, unused wooden building.
  3. A global scout camp project in Nong Yat, constructed in 2012 with a 50-million-baht budget, left unused.
  4. A biomass power plant in Pla Pak district, initiated in 2014 with over 50 million baht, which never became operational.

Despite investigations by anti-corruption agencies and audit offices, many issues remain unresolved with no prosecutions or disciplinary actions. The public suspects hidden agendas behind these projects and questions the efficiency of oversight institutions, raising concerns about repeated misuse of public funds.
