The GT World Challenge Asia 2025, one of the world’s premier supercar racing series, is set to roar into Buriram, Thailand, for Round 3 of the season at Chang International Circuit from May 30 to June 1. The championship has already seen four races completed across two tracks—Sepang in Malaysia and Pertamina Mandalika in Indonesia—building intense anticipation for the mid-season battle.
The Buriram round will feature 33 GT3 race cars from eight top-tier manufacturers including Mercedes-AMG, Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, Audi, BMW, Chevrolet Corvette, and Nissan GT-R NISMO. Over 60 elite drivers from around the world will compete, including ex-Formula 1 driver Markus Winkelhock (Germany), Alessio Picariello (Belgium), Edoardo Mortara (Switzerland), Jayden Ojeda (Australia), Harry King and Alexander Sims (UK), Lorenzo Patrese (Italy), and Nico Menzel (Germany).
Currently leading the standings are Chinese duo Yuan Bo and Leo Ye Hongli from Origin Motorsport with 68 points. They’re closely followed by Anthony Liu Xu (China) and Dorian Boccolacci (France) of Phantom Global Racing, trailing by just 9 points. Alessio Picariello and Chinese teammate Lu Wei recently secured a commanding win in the previous race, adding 51 points to their tally.
Mr. Chotichanok Chidchob, Director of International Activities at Chang Circuit, emphasized the global appeal and economic impact of the race, noting how Thailand’s role as host reflects its growing prominence in the motorsport world.
In addition to the main race, the event will feature the opening round of the Honda One Make Race 2025 as a support series.
