Robinhood, operated by Purple Ventures Co., Ltd. under the Yip In Tsoi Group, has announced a strategic agreement with Foodpanda, a subsidiary of Germany-based Delivery Hero, following Foodpanda’s scheduled exit from the Thai market by May 23, 2025, at 11:59 PM.
To support the transition, Robinhood has upgraded its application to better accommodate English-speaking users, catering especially to former Foodpanda customers. The platform currently serves Bangkok and surrounding areas and plans to expand to major cities across Thailand by the end of Q4 2025.
Robinhood was initially developed by SCBX during the COVID-19 pandemic as a mission-driven platform to support small businesses, riders, and vendors. After successfully fulfilling its purpose, SCBX ceased operating the Robinhood app. The venture was later acquired by the Yip In Tsoi Group in partnership with Brooker Group, SCT Rental Car, and LOXBIT in a deal valued at up to 2 billion baht.
As Foodpanda winds down operations in Thailand, its entire brand ecosystem — including customers, restaurants, and riders — will be transitioned to Robinhood for continued support and service.
