On May 20, 2025, the Criminal Court at Min Buri read the Supreme Court's ruling in the case filed by the public prosecutor against Sek Loso (real name Sekson Sukphimai), a famous Thai rock musician. He was charged with resisting law enforcement, drug use, and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition under the 1947 Firearms Act.
The Supreme Court revised earlier rulings and sentenced Sek to 2 years, 12 months, and 20 days in prison. Authorities took him into custody immediately following the ruling and transferred him to Min Buri Remand Prison.
Earlier court decisions included:
- 6 months in prison for illegal firearm possession (after confession).
- 1 year and 6 months for threatening law enforcement with a weapon.
- 6 months for drug use.
The lower court had initially sentenced him to a combined 2 years and 21 months, including a previous conviction for assaulting a former partner.
In 2020, the Appeals Court adjusted the firearm charge to 3 months (after reduction under Section 78 of the Penal Code), combining it with previous sentences for a total of 2 years and 18 months without suspension.
Sek was previously released on bail of 600,000 baht while awaiting the Supreme Court’s decision. Following the final ruling, the sentence must now be served without further appeal.
