On May 19, 2025, heavy rainfall in Phimai District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, led to flash floods that severely impacted local communities. In particular, the Khok Kradon community in Ban Nikhom Samakkhi, Moo 11, Rangka Yai Subdistrict, experienced water levels rising over 30 centimeters, affecting more than ten households. Residents, including students, evacuated to roadside areas due to concerns over potential electrical hazards from the flooding.

The Phimai-Chum Phuang Road, especially in front of Phimai Samakkhi School, was submerged over a stretch exceeding 2 kilometers, with water depths surpassing 30 centimeters, making it difficult for small vehicles to pass.

District Chief Siwasek Sinthoram visited the affected areas, noting that the floods resulted from accumulated rainfall flowing from higher elevations in Huai Thalaeng District into Phimai. He assured that if no additional rain occurs, the floodwaters in homes and on roads should recede quickly.

In a related incident, a pickup truck was swept away by strong currents in a sugarcane field in Rangka Yai Subdistrict. Fortunately, the driver and passenger escaped unharmed, although the vehicle was severely damaged.

Additionally, Ban Sat School in Chiwon Subdistrict was flooded, damaging educational materials and prompting a one-day closure for cleanup efforts.
