On May 19, 2025, the Marine Interest Protection Command Center Region 3 announced that HTMS Longrom arrested two Indonesian fishing vessels with 18 crew members at a distance of 79.8 nautical miles from the Third Naval Area Command, operating within Thailand's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

The arrest followed a report on May 15 from the Andaman Sea fishing network, which detected two foreign fishing vessels approximately 56 nautical miles southwest of Phuket Island.

At 06:15 hours on May 19, HTMS Longrom successfully apprehended the vessels. Both ships and all 18 suspects will be brought to Phang Nga Naval Base, Third Naval Area Command for legal proceedings.

Upon inspection, the fishing vessels were found to be in normal operational condition. The Navy assigned control teams of three personnel per vessel, including one member from the Special Operations Unit per boat, with capable crew members serving as helmsmen. The vessels are expected to arrive at Phang Nga Naval Base at approximately 03:00 hours on May 20.

This operation demonstrates Thailand's continued efforts to protect its maritime sovereignty and combat illegal fishing activities within its exclusive economic zone.
