The Radio and Television Professional Association of Thailand organized the 16th Nataraj Awards ceremony for 2024, aimed at establishing standards and elevating the judging criteria for television and radio awards. The event promotes educational content alongside entertainment while encouraging professionals in the broadcasting industry. Award winners were selected through voting by radio and television professionals, representing the highest honor for recipients.
The ceremony presented a total of 54 awards across 8 categories, plus 2 honorary awards for radio and television excellence:
Honorary Awards:
- Radio Honor Award: Somsuk Kaljaruek
- Television Honor Award: Dr. Patrawadee Meechuthorn
Radio Awards (6 categories) recognized outstanding stations and programs including Green Wave 106.5 FM and Family News Radio S.Tor. FM 106 MHz for various categories from news programming to music entertainment.
News Awards (5 categories) honored excellence in news broadcasting, with winners from Thai PBS, Thai TV Channel 3, Thai Rath TV, and Channel One31, recognizing both male and female news anchors and investigative reporting.
Television Program Awards (7 categories) celebrated game shows, variety programs, talk shows, sports programming, documentaries, and youth-oriented content across multiple channels including Workpoint, Channel 9 MCOT HD, and Channel 7 HD.
Drama Awards were divided into three time-slot categories:
- Pre-8 PM dramas (7 awards)
- Post-8 PM dramas under 13 episodes (7 awards)
- Post-8 PM dramas over 14 episodes (7 awards)
Notable winners included "Nang Nak Phra Khanong" from Channel 3 and multiple productions from Channel One31.
Drama Production Awards (6 categories) recognized technical excellence in music, costume design, cinematography, art direction, and computer graphics.
Online Platform Drama Awards (7 categories) acknowledged streaming content excellence, with Netflix Thailand and TrueID productions receiving top honors.
