On May 17, chaos broke out in the Lat Phrao 80 canal-side community in Huai Khwang, Bangkok, when over 30 men in black outfits stormed the area, blocking entrances without a court order or eviction notice. Claiming to represent a private company, they posted property ownership signs and installed concrete barriers, alarming longtime residents who have lived there for over 20 years.

Residents, shocked and angered by what they described as mob-rule eviction tactics, gathered to resist the action, shouting "This is mob rule, not the law!" A verbal clash ensued, leading to minor scuffles. Authorities were called in to control the situation.

Police from Huai Khwang Station quickly intervened, with officers separating the two sides and preventing further escalation. Residents stated that no prior legal notice or court order had been issued and condemned the sudden and forceful action.

Despite police temporarily calming the situation, a scheduled mediation meeting between the community and the alleged company was unsuccessful, as the opposing party failed to attend. Residents have since filed an official police report to pursue legal action.
