On May 18, Mr. Anukool Pruksanusak, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister’s Office, provided an update on the student loan debt restructuring under the Student Loan Fund Act (No. 2) B.E. 2566. The reform aims to ease financial pressure on borrowers by adjusting interest rates, fines, and repayment terms. However, many borrowers have yet to register for these benefits, risking additional financial burdens if they miss the deadline.
To address this, the Student Loan Fund (SLF) has extended the registration and debt adjustment deadline for May 2025 from May 17 to May 24. This extension allows borrowers more time to update their information, reduce outstanding debt, and avoid extra charges or future penalties. Mr. Anukool urged all borrowers to complete the process by the new deadline to take full advantage of the revised terms. Failure to do so may result in increased interest, late fees, and potential legal action.
