On May 18, Ms. Sasikarn Wattanachan, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister’s Office, announced that the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) will launch the “Year of Celebration: Destinations Worth Visiting” campaign from June to September. The initiative aims to promote travel across 55 provinces during the green season and celebrate the “Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism & Sports Year 2025.” It is a collaborative effort between public and private sectors to enhance domestic tourism, spotlight emerging destinations, and energize the travel market through 12 targeted campaigns focusing on Thai sub-culture travelers and their evolving travel lifestyles.
Ms. Sasikarn stated that the campaign aims to generate 1.17 trillion baht in tourism revenue in 2025, with more than 205 million domestic trips anticipated. The government is promoting year-round travel, emphasizing that the rainy season is a great time for relaxation, rejuvenation, and supporting local economies. Citizens are encouraged to travel domestically, enjoy new experiences, and contribute to sustainable economic growth.
