On January 6, Senator Angkhana Neelapaijit expressed her views on the People's Party's (PP) proposal to amend Section 256 of the Constitution and introduce a new chapter establishing a Constitution Drafting Assembly (CDA) to create a new charter. Speaking at Parliament at 11:20 a.m., she voiced support for the proposed reforms, which aim to reduce the Senate's authority in approving constitutional amendments. However, she acknowledged that the PP may face significant hurdles due to a lack of support from the majority of senators.

"I urge my fellow senators to prioritize the future of the nation and its people. The current constitution has several flaws that need addressing through a CDA elected by the people," Senator Angkhana stated.

She also noted that the amendment process for Section 256 might face delays, as the matter could be referred to the Constitutional Court for review. Although she was uncertain which party might initiate such a request, she emphasized that the process would be temporarily paused until a ruling is issued.
