On January 5, Mr. Anusorn Eiamsa-ard, a party-list MP from the Pheu Thai Party, addressed concerns that proposed constitutional amendments might fail in Parliament. He attributed these worries to attempts by certain senators to obstruct reforms in order to maintain political advantages, which he stated contradicts the will and interests of the majority of citizens.
Mr. Anusorn emphasized that senators, regardless of their affiliations, should not impose their decisions on the public. Instead, they should allow the people to shape the nation's future and direction through the constitution. He asserted that the constitution should reflect the collective will of the people, rather than serve the interests of a specific group.
He called on senators to set aside personal interests, even if constitutional amendments might alter their existing powers. He urged them to prioritize the nation and its citizens over preserving their own privileges. The Pheu Thai Party reaffirmed its commitment to advancing constitutional reforms as promised to the public.
