The Bangkok Metropolitan Police Chief, Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom, has directed Pol. Maj. Gen. Kiatkul Sonthenaree, Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 3, to investigate allegations involving a 38,000-baht fee charged for a volunteer police training course. Reports claim Chinese nationals participated in the program, receiving certificates and badges bearing the Royal Thai Police logo upon completion.

Preliminary findings indicate the course was conducted by a university in Thonburi, which invited Division 3 officers as instructors for the volunteer police training project. However, the specifics regarding the inclusion of Chinese participants and the authenticity of the approving signatures from the investigation division remain under scrutiny.

This development follows widespread attention on social media, prompting the Metropolitan Police to confirm the legitimacy of the program and ensure proper adherence to regulations.
