On December 24, 2024, Dr. Surapong Suebwonglee, Chairman of the National Soft Power Development Committee, alongside Prasop Reang-ngern, Director-General of the Department of Cultural Promotion, and M.R. Chalermchatri Yukol, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Film, Drama, and Series Development, announced new strategies to elevate Thailand’s soft power. The government plans to promote Thailand’s creative culture globally, aiming to enhance economic growth and international competitiveness through cultural and creative industries.

The Department of Cultural Promotion has allocated 220 million baht for fiscal year 2025 to support Thai filmmakers and producers, distributed as follows:

1. Production Support: 200 million baht for films, dramas, series, documentaries, and animations.

2. Development Funding: 10 million baht for intellectual property (IP) creation.

3. Short Film Grants: 10 million baht targeting international markets.
