On December 14, flash floods that inundated multiple areas in Kra Buri District, Ranong Province, since early morning began to subside. However, authorities are maintaining vigilance due to the risk of tidal surges, particularly in Song Phraek village, Lamliang Subdistrict. This mountainous area, which borders Chumphon Province, continues to experience heavy rainfall throughout the day.
The flood levels in the area are notably higher than in previous years, exceeding past records by over one foot and persisting longer than usual. Normally, floodwaters subside within 3–4 hours, but on this occasion, flooding has persisted from morning until evening. With continuous rainfall and another tidal surge expected tonight and tomorrow, local residents and officials remain on high alert for additional runoff that could exacerbate the situation.
