On December 14, Siriraj Hospital issued a statement regarding changes in service protocols for cancer patients covered under Thailand’s Universal Health Coverage (UHC) program. The announcement follows the National Health Security Office (NHSO)'s recent policy allowing cancer patients to receive treatment at any equipped facility of their choice, effective January 1, 2025.

Siriraj Hospital clarified that cancer patients under the UHC program must provide a referral document from their primary healthcare provider registered with the NHSO to access treatment at the hospital. This measure ensures proper coordination of care and compliance with the new NHSO guidelines.
