Bloomberg has released its annual ranking of the 25 wealthiest families in the world, featuring prominent names from across the globe. Topping the list is the Walton family, owners of Walmart, followed by the Al Nahyan royal family of the UAE. Notably, Thailand’s Chearavanont family, owners of the Charoen Pokphand (CP) Group, secured the 19th spot on the list with an estimated fortune of 1.5 trillion baht (approximately $44.1 billion).
Currently led by Dhanin Chearavanont, the family has reached its fourth generation of leadership. Their wealth is derived from a wide array of business sectors, including food, retail, finance, and telecommunications, with the responsibilities now divided among the family’s successors. The CP Group remains a cornerstone of Thailand’s economy, reflecting the family’s enduring influence and success on a global scale.
