On December 1, unofficial election results for the Kamphaeng Phet Provincial Administrative Organization (PAO) Chief were reported following a special election to fill the vacant position. The previous PAO Chief, Sunthorn Rattanakorn, resigned before the end of his term and ran again to defend his title. Two candidates contested the election: Sunthorn Rattanakorn (Candidate No. 1) and Thanan Laowcharoen (Candidate No. 2).
By 9:18 PM, with 87% of the votes counted, the preliminary results showed:
Sunthorn Rattanakorn (No. 1): 136,816 votes
Thanan Laowcharoen (No. 2): 41,978 votes
At the campaign headquarters of Sunthorn's brother, Warathep Rattanakorn, a former Deputy Finance Minister, Sunthorn declared victory and thanked voters for their support.
In his victory speech, Sunthorn expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him, stating that every vote serves as motivation to effectively lead the local government. He reaffirmed his commitment to delivering on his campaign promises, emphasizing his vision to advance Kamphaeng Phet's development.
