Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt clarified on November 29 that repair work on the Rama 9 Intersection Flyover will primarily occur at night, from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM, as stipulated in the contractor’s terms of reference (TOR). The flyover, an aging structure with signs of instability, requires urgent maintenance to enhance its durability and safety. Governor Chadchart assured that full-day closures would only happen when absolutely necessary and with prior notification to minimize public inconvenience.
Deputy Governor Wisanu Subsompon added that no plans for extended closures have been approved yet. Any deviation, such as daytime closures for lifting large components, will require case-by-case approval from Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA). The contractor must also submit a detailed construction plan for review before public announcements are made.
