Chanthaburi province has announced its readiness to host the 49th National Games, known as the "Chan Games," from December 9–20, 2024. The opening ceremony will take place on December 9 at the Provincial Administrative Organization Stadium, with live broadcasts on Tsports7 and Facebook Live from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The event will feature 54 sports, including two compulsory categories (athletics and swimming), 50 international sports, two traditional sports, and five demonstration sports. The mascot for the games is "Nong Chan," a rabbit holding a torch, with the slogan: "Building Bonds and Friendship, Exceptional Sports in Chanthaburi."

Competitions will be held across all 10 districts of the province, with significant support from local communities and various sectors. Chanthaburi aims to impress participants and visitors with air-conditioned accommodations for athletes and officials, as well as special gemstone-embedded medals to honor the winners.

In addition to showcasing the province’s potential as a host, the games are designed to promote international-level athletic participation and highlight Chanthaburi’s attractions, reinforcing its status as a sports-tourism destination. The event is expected to boost the local economy through increased spending and accommodations, aligning with government goals to enhance physical and mental well-being while fostering economic growth.
