Thailand's Minister of Tourism and Sports, Mr. Sorawong Thienthong, chaired a meeting on November 28 to discuss preparations for the 33rd SEA Games and the 13th ASEAN Para Games. Key decisions were as follows:
- Official Emblems and Mascots Approved: The meeting ratified the official emblems and mascots for both the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games, selected through a prior design competition.
- Event Dates and Locations:
- The 33rd SEA Games will be held from December 9–20, 2025, across Bangkok, Chonburi, and Songkhla.
- The 13th ASEAN Para Games will follow in Nakhon Ratchasima from January 20–26, 2026.
- Sports Program Confirmed: A total of 50 sports, three demonstration sports, and 569 events were approved in line with SEA Games Federation regulations.
- Budget Allocation: The combined hosting budget for both events is set at 2.055 billion baht.
- Venue-Specific Sports: Discussions outlined preliminary sports allocations across the three host provinces. Songkhla requested additional high-profile events, such as sepak takraw matches between Thailand and Malaysia or the men's football semifinals, to boost local interest and economic activity. Final decisions on these requests will be reviewed.
