Dr. Phulphat Leesombatpaiboon, Secretary-General and Spokesperson of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), announced a minor reduction in electricity rates for the January–April 2024 billing period. The average electricity cost will decrease by 0.03 baht per unit, from 4.18 baht to 4.15 baht per unit, with the Ft charge set at 36.72 satang per unit (excluding VAT).
The reduction follows a comprehensive review of public feedback, fuel cost trends, and future economic risks, conducted jointly by the ERC and the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). The decision aims to ease financial burdens for consumers while maintaining energy system stability. Additional details about the Ft adjustment are available on the ERC website at www.erc.or.th.
