On November 23, Bangkok Deputy Governor Tavida Kamolvej led a team of health officials and staff from Public Health Service Center 22 in a rabies investigation and planning session at the On Nut 86 Waste Disposal Center in the Prawet district. The operation followed confirmation of rabies infection from the National Institute of Animal Health under the Department of Livestock Development.
The team implemented several measures to contain the disease, including vaccinating 728 individuals identified as at risk of exposure. Authorities also removed 51 stray dogs from the area for quarantine and observation at the Bangkok Dog Control Center. Additionally, 104 animals in nearby communities were vaccinated to prevent further spread.
Public awareness campaigns were conducted to educate residents in the affected area about rabies risks and preventive measures. These coordinated efforts aim to safeguard public health and prevent further outbreaks.
