
By Car
To travel from Chiang Mai to Pai, take Highway 1095 through Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, also known as the Mae Malai–Pai Road. The route passes through Mae Taeng District before reaching Pai in Mae Hong Son Province, covering a distance of approximately 130 kilometers.
This well-paved road also offers access to unseen attractions in Pai District, such as Tham Lod Cave, Wat Nam Hu, and Huai Nam Dang National Park.

By Bus
Bus services, including coaches and vans, are available at the Chiang Mai Arcade Bus Terminal. Tickets to Pai can be purchased at counter No. 12, operated by Prempracha Transport Co., Ltd. Tickets can be reserved up to three days in advance. Both standard buses (fan-cooled) and vans are available.

Standard Bus (Fan-Cooled):
Departs from Chiang Mai Bus Terminal three times daily at 07:30, 10:30, and 14:30. The fare is 72 THB, and the journey takes approximately 4 hours.
Van Service:
Vans depart hourly or as soon as enough passengers are available. The waiting time usually does not exceed two hours. The fare is 150 THB, and the journey takes approximately 3 hours. Tickets include seat numbers, and front seats are recommended for those prone to motion sickness.
By Air
In the past, Kan Air provided flights between Chiang Mai Airport and Pai Airport using small aircraft. However, this service is no longer available. Currently, there are no flights to Pai.
