On November 12, Senator Nantana Nantawaropas shared a Facebook post questioning Thailand's commitment to the rule of law, prompted by the unresolved legal dispute over 5,083 rai of land in Khao Kradong, Buriram. This land has been subject to numerous legal rulings, including a 1998 decision by the Council of State and a 2018 Supreme Court verdict affirming the State Railway of Thailand's ownership, which called for the removal of unlawful structures. However, local agencies have failed to revoke the contested land titles, prompting ongoing litigation. Most recently, on March 30, 2023, the Central Administrative Court upheld previous rulings, instructing a review and revocation of the illegal titles within 15 days. Despite this, on November 9, 2024, the Department of Lands announced that its investigation committee unanimously decided against revoking the land titles.

Senator Nantana highlighted this case as an example of the challenges Thailand faces in enforcing legal decisions equitably, raising concerns about whether Thai governance leans more toward an oligarchic system than a true democracy, given the prolonged, unresolved nature of this case.
