On November 11, Kittiratt Na-Ranong was appointed as the new chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Thailand (BoT) following a selection committee meeting led by Sathit Limpongpan. The appointment will proceed with Kittiratt’s name being submitted to the Minister of Finance for endorsement by the Cabinet. Once Cabinet approval is granted, the nomination will be forwarded for royal endorsement. The process for appointing expert board members will also follow the same route, with the Minister of Finance responsible for final appointments.

In related developments, Sathit is scheduled to address the media tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. in an “Econmass Talk” hosted by the Economic Reporters Association, where he will discuss the significance of the central bank board chairmanship.
