The Royal Irrigation Department’s Office 15 has mobilized to install water pumps to mitigate flooding risks in over 3,000 rai (approximately 1,185 acres) of Siam Ruby pomelo orchards in Klong Noi, Pak Phanang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat. The orchards are a crucial economic asset for the region, and the department is implementing a structured water management strategy to handle potential floodwaters.

During high tides, officials close all water gates, including Bang Chak, Pia, and Bang Luk, to prevent seawater intrusion, while large pumps are used to direct excess water out to sea. Currently, four high-capacity pumps have been deployed at key locations, including the Bang Khlop drainage pipe and Pia and Bang Luk water gates. These measures align with Agriculture Minister Dr. Narumon Pinyosinwat’s policies for flood preparedness in the area.
