On November 9 at 2:40 p.m., a Chinese tourist named Mr. Lou Yiling, 27, experienced a near-drowning incident while snorkeling at Similan Islands National Park, Phang Nga Province. The tourist, snorkeling without a life jacket during his third dive, was found unconscious by crew from TSK MARINE’s boat TSK111. Park officials quickly brought him to the island’s marine safety unit, where he showed symptoms of vomiting blood and was unresponsive. After initial first aid, he was transported to Khao Lak Medical Center for further treatment.
A speedboat from the park transferred Mr. Lou to the Tab Lamu Pier at 4:40 p.m., and at 5:59 p.m., a helicopter from the Royal Thai Navy's Third Fleet took him to receive urgent medical care. The Third Fleet also extended their support and well-wishes to Mr. Lou and his family, hoping for a swift recovery.
